What inspired you to not only go for your Professional Wetland Scientist Certification, but into this field?

Love for the environment, wanting to properly delineate wetlands based on a scientific methodology and finding a balance between the need for development and growth in our environments while also protecting and properly mitigating for impacts.

How was your professional work experience prepared you for this?

Eight years of fieldwork in the sweltering heat and humidity, rain, hail, snow, and freezing cold, poison ivy, ticks and mosquitos, trip and fall hazards, mud pits and quagmires, and so, so, so many thorns.  Additionally, doing field verification with regulators and third-party reviews, defending delineations and determinations, and working together to come to agreements on wetland boundaries.

If you could take one celebrity in the field with you, who would it be?

Jeff Corwin!

How do you plan on celebrating this huge accomplishment?

Training and mentoring other staff so they can do the same!
